Everyone is heartbroken, but some of the stagehands decide to start another band with the same style called Toontown Rewritten.Ģ014: Toontown Rewritten releases their first album, and fans love it. Let me use an analogy here to explain what's been going on from our end, in a way that might be crazy but might make a bit of sense.Ģ013: Toontown Online, a band with tons of fans, breaks up. I've been hearing these complaints ever since they started popping up around ToonFest, and we've taken a huge action to fix our ways over the course of this next year, which you'll start seeing. Trust me when I say that we're listening to you guys. They just need that leap to get them out of the jaded sea. I feel like if they have 1 part of the team work on security while another part works on the content, they could probably finish stuff faster. Of course you think by 3 years, it wouldn't be 16:9 TTO with new bossbot HQ, but at the same time, I can kinda see why they take years to produce content. Security is key, I just don't feel like they are working on the game all the time like they said they have. Of course we want to see TTR strive and try harder for their content. That commercial sure does highlight where Disney stirred off down the road…. Fun fact, TTR is the top server out there, including the interactive part they do with Jesse Schell. TTR strives on security and strength of their game, they want their players to feel safe and secured while playing their game.
Not all of them are as secured and thought-out like TTR is. They are actively looking for new staff members, keep in mind it is all volunteer work. The staff is also security conscious, so before releasing any new content they want to ensure that nobody can manipulate it. nobody is really coming up with new ideas, just adding onto old ones.Įverything is based on a timeline, when they feel the time is right, they release content, keep in mind there is a reason why TTR is still in beta stage. As far as the TTO storyline goes, I’m not sure what else they could do to regenerate the player base back their way. I mean yes and no, the company had laid off employees from the Interactive dept and CP was the money maker for them, so it was a business decision to keep themselves out of the red. Disney saw that and before they could take any bigger losses, they shut their MMORPGs down, except for Club Penguin, in which they made a big investment on… at the time I’m sure they had a bigger player base on CP than TTO. The consumer market has changed since then. As the Toontown commercial said, the game is supposed to get bigger and better every single day. You can't be afraid of change - things are getting stale. The community would appreciate a secure, well-trusted server like Toontown Rewritten that listened to the community and released new content regularly.
Of course they have major security concerns (one got hacked real bad a couple days ago), but if they can add all this new stuff, then Toontown Rewritten can. We have other private servers popping up, that have been in development for less than half a year, that already have the entire game done, and have added new gag tracks, Cog types, and tons of new features. The staff rarely interacts with the community anymore. Nothing major has been added to the game. It's been three years and the game still isn't done. I'm not saying that Toontown Rewritten is exactly like Disney right now, but they're getting there.
Disney was notorious for never listening to the community and pretty much abandoned TTO after 2012. A major reason why Toontown Online shut down was because it lacked revenue from players paying subscriptions, and people weren't paying because there was never anything new in the game after 2010 or so.
